FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Author to Launch Second Thriller in Ghost and A Cop Series
Writer Jan Walters to Share Her Newest Story at Artisan Gallery 218
Warm up with a hot new mystery as local writer Jan Walters launches her newest book, Red Sunset Drive, on Monday, January 23. The talk begins at 6:30 PM at the Artisan Gallery 218, located at 218 Fifth Street in Valley Junction.
Red Sunset Drive is Walters’ second book in her Ghost and a Cop Series. Like her first book, York Street, this story is set in Des Moines. It begins with a construction project, near the junction of the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers, where underground tunnels and Indian relics are discovered. The resulting archeological dig unearths a hidden cave and two mysterious tombs carved with Romanian writing. Des Moines Police Detective Brett O’Shea takes a call after one of the tombs has been opened. A body part has been discovered by the archeologist in charge of the site–whose relative was the commander at the original Fort Des Moines. O’Shea is reluctant to investigate the strange events at the dig site, especially after the horrific murder case he solved last year. He was still a street cop when the ghost of his great grandfather, Michael O’Shea, showed up and dragged him into catching a serial killer–who was possessed by a demon! That’s when Detective O’Shea knew ghosts and demons really did exist, although he still refused to acknowledge any other paranormal entities.
When two prostitutes are found with their throats ripped apart, O’Shea realizes that Des Moines may have yet another serial killer and he’s not sure what kind of killer it might be. Once again, the ghost Michael returns and offers to help solve the case. It quickly becomes apparent that on Red Sunset Drive, no one is what they seem to be.
Following the author’s presentation, enjoy some cake and have your photo taken with a character from the book. Beaverdale Books will have copies of the books available for purchase and signing.
